Specialty Pharmacy at Boston Children's

Boston children's hospital is excellent but their pharmacy doesn't at all share the same family friendly "I love my job and helping people" atmosphere that the hospital staff have. In the hospital you are treated as family and you are blessed by their care for your children. In the pharmacy you're treated as a burden and a hassle. There is no hello, there is no smile. It's just a job. Three times I've gone there for the medicine my daughter needs, and three times I've left empty handed because they can't help me till tomorrow even though we've been notified that our meds are ready. One time we even got someone else's meds and had to hand them back. Maybe the hospital staff can offer some training to the pharmacy staff.

I miss the CVS that Boston Children’s Hospital had inside their building. They were fast. After going to two, back to back urgent care appointments at 1:45 pm and 2:15 pm, I went to this pharmacy at 3:42 pm, only to find my child’s antibiotics weren’t ready. They told me they “needed 5-10 minutes”, which is not too long when your spouse and husband are waiting in the car outside illegally pulled over. It took them exactly 30 minutes to call me up, and about half way through I had to inquire after the medication. In total, my sick kids and spouse were in a car waiting for me for 45 minutes (from the time they sat in the car to my arrival from the pharmacy). I will have the prescription sent to my local CVS next time because it was very inconvenient and exhausting for my kids to say the leas

I had a great experience at this pharmacy. The staff are incredibly kind, patient, and always willing to help. They take the time to answer questions and make sure everything is clear, which I really appreciate. Everyone is welcoming, professional, and efficient, even when it’s busy. Their kindness and dedication really make a difference. I’m very grateful for their help and highly recommend this pharmacy.
