Great hospital but had a bad experience there yesterday. They changed my wife’s appointment without noticing her. My wife had to get out of work early for that appointment, which could have been avoiders if they got in touch with her. We had to wait for more than an hour before she could see someone. On top of it, the receptionist told us we could get called any minute preventing my wife from going out for food nearby.
The nurses are rude and don't know how to properly do their jobs instead of listening to your complaints , they try to ga light you into believing that you're the problem. I would not recommend coming to this hospital for surgery.
I can say I have had great experiences and not so great , lately it's been not so great. I was 9 min late , but line at the door to check in was long . I don't mind waiting I was a little late . 2 hrs go by ??? Oh we changed your appointment to 11:45 then 11:25? never said anything. I could have gone to get a drink a snack , honestly I could have went to urgent care and been home by now . Now it's after 11:30 still have not been seen . Maybe communicate to the patient about what is going on . Similar thing a couple months ago lab locked the door 5 min before closing and wouldn't let me in for blood work .
The Shapiro is a beautiful building which was remodeled around 2010. However I would rather see much more money spent on patient care rather than on beautifying the building inside, or overly paying top administrators of another Harvard "non-profit"
Great hospital with amazing medical staff. However , terrible experience with administration staff. They had a power outage today and it was like they never had this planned out. Felt more like this was their first time experiencing a power outage and upper management never came up with a contingency plan and/or they had one but never tested it.
