Today I had to bring my 9-year-old son to the Sentara Hospital in lakeridge after he injured his arm at school. From the moment we walked in, the experience was truly outstanding. We were welcomed by Steven, who also helped us a year ago when my son hurt his left foot. Seeing him again felt reassuring — he is attentive, patient, and incredibly friendly. He even placed a temporary cast on my son's arm with great care and skill. We were also seen by Dr. Monica and Susan (doctor or nurse), and both were equally impressive. The nurse Angela was a sweetheart but I felt like the main doctor was just trying to get me out of there. He was basically telling me my pain was nothing even though it hurts to walk and put any pressure on it and then he was switching up what he was saying at first he was like it’s not because of your previous surgery then proceeded to blame it on the surgery then told me that my previous doctors appointment with another doctor at the hospital was wrong and that there was nothing wrong with me mind you I have a whole cyst on the side of my foot so Idk where he got that from but overall i feel like he didnt take me seriously and just wanted me out

I’ve never had a good experience with any Sentara hospital, but I was too ill to drive to Inova. After leaving urgent care, I was told to go to the ER because they found an infection and my white blood cell count was very high. My EKG was also abnormal, and since I had chest pain, the urgent care doctor wanted me to get a second opinion. Once I got to Sentara, I will say the front desk, staff, and my nurse Patrick were extremely friendly and caring. However, I did not like the doctor at all. I felt like he didn’t take my situation seriously—whether it was because of my age (28) or simply lack of concern, I don’t know. What I do know is that every hospital or doctor I’ve visited in the past has had the doctor come in before discharge to review everything. The doctor on duty did not do that

We were very pleased with the care provided to my wife this evening. The doctor, nurses, and admin staff were all very thorough and friendly. We also experienced no wait time.
