Ocean Radiology Associates

The reviews about billing problems are accurate and clearly represent my issue with practice. The practice has unscrupulous bill practices and lack patient support in correcting the problem. My claim was for an annual mammogram covered by my insurance and paid for by my insurance company. However Ocean Radiology has sent an additional bill for the already paid claim. Additionally the bill was vague on just what the service was for. It is impossible to contact the practice. I am concerned that soon I will sent to collections and my credit rating will be harmed.

Posting because my 87 year old mother from Westerly RI is dealing with exactly what other posters have described. She is grateful to others that took the time to post their experiences. On her call last week, Ocean State provided no option to speak to billing or to stay on the line for help. She spent 3 hours yesterday, and many hours prior, trying to sort out this stressful situation. Losing approximately 8 hours to threats and run-around was not what she needed. She has insurance, diligently pays her legitimate bills, and is extremely stressed by this situation.

Poor experience. We had paid the bill the office sent. Subsequently received a collection notice for the same amount. The office sends you in circles. This place needs an audit. I'd stay away unless you like headaches. The worst part it was for not even for a lot of money.

Dr ordered an ultrasound. I scheduled it at Westerly Hospital and it went smoothly. The hospital/facility portion is paid without issue in mychart. Then I get a bill from Ocean Radiology saying my insurance denied my claim for the physician portion and I owe the radiologist the full amount for that portion. It was never in my Yale mychart, it was emailed bill. Instead of fighting with my insurance to clear things up (my plan is in-network at Westerly Hospital and Ocean Radiology), they just dump the bill on the patient. Now I'm stuck between me/insurance coverage paying for the facility claim without issue , but the physician not being covered and insurance denying that claim even though they are in-network and who Westerly Hospital contracts with. Rec'd bill for mammo that was already paid in full at hospital. My insurance tried to pay their (Ocean Rad) invoice twice, but I continued to receive this extra bill. If they take me to collections, I guess I will have to deal with it then, but I have no intention of double paying.
