Michael Slama, MD, PhD

Dr Slama is a one in a million type doctor. He cared for my partner Richard until his death. Richard could be a tough patient and Dr Slama understood and listened to Richard. If you have Myasthenia Gravis this is the man you want caring for you. He is smart, kind, patient and cares deeply for his patients.

The visit with Dr Slama was a follow-up one year visit. I was greeted by the Dr. Slama and he listened as I recounted what had transpired over the last year along with his asking clarifying questions. He is an excellent listener and disarming in his approach; as a patient he makes you at ease. After questioning, a neurological evaluation was performed and its results shared. Based on his findings, a plan was agreed to going forward with my having a say in the options he presented. I will return in one year for a follow-up unless something develops. EXCELLENT Dr. both in knowledge and his manner with patients.

Dr. Slama and his staff are very professional and caring people. Dr. Slama always ensures that I understand everything related to my specific diagnosis and I always feel put at ease. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner (hard to find these days).

Takes his time to talk and listen to you. He is not a doctor who just likes to hear himself talk. Actually shows he cares about his patients (called me personally to check up on me after treatment!) and he doesn’t push a treatment you are not comfortable with. He is a wonderful doctor. I travel 2 hours from CT to see him even though he’s not covered by my insurance! I took a chance and so should anyone else who isn’t feeling they are getting the care they should by their current doctor, which is what made me look elsewhere. Always fight for your medical care if it doesn’t seem like they are putting your needs first anymore. So glad I found this doctor, thank you Dr. Slama!

I absolutely appreciate Dr Slama and his team at St Elizabeth’s Hospital. He is the most compassionate and attentive neurologist I’ve ever had. If I could give him a million stars I would . If you are looking for an amazing neurologist to go to he is definitely the one . 🙂
