Farr Building | BIDMC

We brought our very sick 75 yr old mother to Beth Israel and she was admitted for 3 weeks on the Farr Building floor 10. The doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing! Their intelligence, dedication, and hard work saved our mom’s life and stabilized her to be able to come back home. We are so appreciative of everything they did. Best hospital experience!

The Farr building is a joke of a hospital. It is understaffed and the staff that is is less than mediocre. It takes 2 1/2 hours for food to arrive after it has been ordered and it arrives cold. I have never experienced anything like this. I always considered Beth Israel to be a fine hospital until I spent time in the Farr building. Any sense of humanity, humility, self worth is lost when entering this hell hole.

I was sent to beth israel farr building because my local hospital determined that I had fluid in my lungs that needed to be drained. They kept me for a week. Everyday my procedure got canceled yet I was not allowed to eat or drink. I received IV fluids. The room was filthy. It was very understaffed. My call button was rarely answered. I was told I could not ambulate to the bathroom and I had to use an adult potty chair. I had to insist on privacy for this, but I still felt like I was practically in the hall. It was awful. Finally when my procedure was not canceled I was told that the fluid had resolved and they just sent me home. I was told I would be taken down stairs and the person that was picking me up didn't have to come up. Well the person they sent me with did not speak any Englis

Farr floor 8 is absolutely the worst hospital I have ever visited a patient at. Left my family member who has a collapsed lung in his close never offered a sponge bath, or to help assist him to brush his teeth had to go up all the way from lowell,ma to assist him staff at front desk was absolutely rude and no help at all. Breakfast time they left his food on the other side of the room and when he buzzed for help to get it they left him waiting over an hour to get it. I wouldn't even send a dying dog to that place if it's life depended on it.

Farr 7th floor nurses are the definition of patient neglect. We have never in our lives experienced anything like it and my whole family, including myself, worked in hospitals for years!!! My 96yo great grandmother was transferred there, she suffered a heart attack, she doesn’t speak English and can only communicate though us. They were extremely rude throughout the visiting hours. Comes 7pm they escorted her daughter(my grandmother) out of the hospital with security while trying to be physical with her. She always stays in hospitalizations with her as she can’t express any pain because of the language, can’t go to the bathroom without help of a *female family member. They lied everytime we called to check on her, and we know because her roommate was witnessing everything and told us what
