The scent was quite delightful despite what everyone else is saying. Of all the nursing homes I've been to, the staff has by far been the kindest here! As someone born in raised in the South, I'm used to the hospitality over there. This places makes me feel right at home! My grandchildren were happy to visit and see how bright I was! When I last visited my mom on the 4th of July at the Benjamin Healthcare Facility. She was telling me how nice all the staff were and trying to introduce me to everyone. Since, the new management has taken over you can see the difference. Staff had brought her lunch, removed the tray afterwards and cleaned up. She was given a nice ice cream treat which she loved and checked on her as well to see if she needed assistance; the response was appropriate and timely. The lobby, has been updated with staff being present and helping you to gain access. The room bathroom was clean with no smells. In addition, the nursing staff always calls with an update on her progress. Also, has her prepared when we request to take her out for a Holiday Day Celebration with our family. My mother came for rehabilitation for two weeks..We wanted THANKS all for taking care of our mom..Nurses, CNA, Occupation Therapy, all those in the 2 floor(east) staff's. They're all very friendly and helpful. But we're very disappointed of the physical therapy, our mom says the PT came only once during her stayed at benjamin healthcare center. We see no improvement in her mobility. We give 3 stars for wonderful care from the staff's but not a place for someone who need short term care rehabilitation and and administration departments...social services, nursing director,caseworker, I had called several times...never call me back...never give me clear answer to my questions, unprofessional. They take very good care of my mom, she likes it there and has made new friends. This is one of the only long term care facilities in Boston and the staff have been instrumental in making sure the elders are cared for at all times.
