Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing center

My 86-year-old mother was recently a resident at Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cortland while on comfort care with Hospice, and I am deeply disappointed in the facility’s communication, accountability, and overall professionalism. Injuries were not disclosed to family. Hospice informed me that my mother had a skin tear on her elbow—the nursing home did not notify me or my brother. The next day, a family friend visited and saw a bruise/lump on my mother’s forehead. When I asked what happened, I received two different stories from staff: one person said she fell out of a chair around 2:00 a.m., and another said she hurt herself trying to get out of bed. My mother was bedridden and unable to walk independently, so these conflicting explanations were extremely concerning. I

A friend has been receiving inpatient rehab for about 3 weeks. The staff has been professional, friendly and caring. Especially standing out, is employee Jacob who is very positive and encouraging as he assists the patients and makes sure they are safely taken care of. Crown Park exceeded my expectations!

Crown Park truly stands out because of its wonderful staff who are not only professional but also genuinely caring. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcomed and valued. The team goes above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and happiness, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. Their attentiveness and kindness make every visit special, and it’s clear they truly care about the people they serve. I highly recommend Crown Park for anyone looking for a place with excellent service and a heartfelt touch.

My grandma was there and had a broken vertebrae . One of the nurses decided it was a good idea to sit her up in a chair and while she was alone she had fallen and had a huge bruise and bump on her head luckily she didn’t crack her head open and a cut and bruise on her arm . This place is sickening and obviously has some staff that don’t care about their patience . I have taken care of residents before , how could you be so heartless? What if this was your grandma ? Please do not bring your family here if you don’t want them mistreated. She has sadly passed and it’s probably due to poor staff. Oh and one more thing , my father and uncle had told them to call hospice once she passed but did not and instead called my dad . Hospice still had it in there system the next day that she was alive
