City of Hope

My father underwent surgery this morning at City of Hope in Duarte and was admitted to Building C, Room 8100. He was placed in a shared room with another patient. Shortly after, a doctor informed the patient in the adjacent bed that he has confirmed pneumonia. Given that my father had just come out of surgery and has a compromised immune system, I immediately requested that he be moved to a different bed, room, or unit to reduce the risk of infection. Despite repeated requests, this concern has not been addressed. I spoke with nursing staff members David and Bella, as well as the operator, all of whom were dismissive and unresponsive to the seriousness of the situation. I was referred to Patient Advocacy, and a case was opened several hours ago, but no action has been taken. My father re
