Citadel of Kankakee

Was not impressed with the facility at all, the only thing that looked well kept was the entrance. The walls in the room had paint peeling extremely bad. The restrooms needed some repairs and upkeep. The nurses are friendly but do not seem to really care and just allowing patients to be left alone. Spent several hours there with a family member and was checked on once when I arrived. I had to go find a nurse for assistance which never ended up coming. He needed changed, used the restroom, wanted help sit up or even roll him over. May have just been a bad first impression but I would do your homework if thinking about sending a loved one here.

Wonderful staff and management!!! The staff and management are compassionate, helpful and respectful to the people they take care of. Everyone there goes above and beyond for their residents care and concerns . When a staff or resident needs something everyone steps in to help. I highly recommend this place!!

I wish I could give no stars. My mom stayed at citadel of Kankakee and they abused and neglected her. She had bruises on her face, a black eye and bruised legs and foot. And no one knows what happened. My mother can’t walk so there’s no way she fell on her own. The lady over business office MAk…. Covers up and claim they don’t know anything. I normally don’t do reviews but I wouldn’t want anyone to experience what my mother did. They’re only concerned with getting five stars by lying and covering up. If you love your love one don’t put them at Citadel of Kankakee.

I have had the pleasure of working with this amazing team. They show great attention and care to not only their residents but to the families. Their support and dedication makes a world of difference. Every interaction I have had with their staff is always welcoming and friendly. From walking in the door to down each unit, the cleanliness is remarkable. They take such great pride in their work and it shows! I feel confident knowing residents and loved ones needs are being fully met. Amazing job to the team at Citadel of Kankakee!

The director is amazing and professional! The staff’s very friendly and professional, very helpful even when they are short of staff. The place is clean and welcoming. All staff in every department was friendly and professional. They took excellent care of our Aunt in the memory care area and the staff is great! Thank you all for your service and care.
