Used to work here as a nurse and love the doctors and nurses. Unfortunately, and this seems to be a problem in other practices as well, the past two times something has come up during a well check that was even slightly out of the norm, (once it was a minimally abnormal urinalysis and once it was a minor skin issue), if the provider spoke to me at all about it, even when I didn’t want/need help with the issue, I was charged about $140! In the clinic they have signs posted warning you of this, but how am I supposed to answer the doctor’s well check questions honestly without potentially bringing up a discussion point that might result in a huge bill? The pediatrician is fantastic. However, when I called get clarification on some bills after meeting the doctor, the billing agent did not let me finish a single sentence. I politely explained to her how frustrating and rude it is to do that to someone, and she cut me off again. I ended up hanging up at that point. Related, it's VERY odd to have to fill out the check-in information each and every time you arrive. It's unnecessarily repetitive.

My four kids have been going here for ten years. They’ve been through routine visits, specialist referrals, lab work, sick visits, concussions, newborn care, injuries, chronic conditions, behavioral issues - you name it. You’re going to have some bad days out of so many visits, but overall I’ve been happy with their care and I do recommend them to friends. They’re really good about getting back to me promptly when I call with any concerns and fitting urgent visits into the busy schedule. They’re usually short staffed, but they always find a way to fit us in. Sometimes I think their billing practices are a bit questionable, but I know LANL insurance doesn’t pay adequately so I don’t really mind paying them myself. I have been taking my two young children to this clinic since we first moved here in January. We have seen Dr. Nichols and Dr. Neal and they have been absolutely wonderful! They take time to explain things thoroughly and my babies are very comfortable with them. I highly recommend either of them! I took one star off the rating because on two separate occasions I have called to make appointments and the scheduler has been either rude or has given me an attitude. Both times this attitude from her was unprovoked and very unprofessional. If I could speak with a different, more pleasant scheduler when I call I would immediately give this clinic Five Stars!

I called the On Call provider line because my son was having difficulty breathing. I was uneasy about it due to our previous experience with RSV. Dr. Neal happened to be the doctor on call. He is an excellent doctor and actually listens to parent's concerns. It was 10pm and I live 45 min away from his office. He met us at the office and took care of my son in the most professional, caring manner possible. He was patient and understanding. He answered all of our questions and stayed with us until he felt comfortable to let my son come home. Thank you Dr. Neal for taking care of our son, and meeting us when you didn't have to.
