Boston Animal Hospital has been incredible for us since the day I brought home Trevor (my Morkie). They’ve taken such great care of him through everything — from a scary accident to his many little “scruffles” with bigger dogs (he definitely has a bit of a Napoleon complex!). Every visit, the staff are kind, professional, and genuinely loving with Trevor. The vets take time to explain what’s going on, walk through options, and answer every question without ever making me feel rushed. I always feel like Trevor is in the best hands here, and I’m so grateful for the consistent, compassionate care they’ve provided over the years. Highly recommend Boston Animal Hospital!

In February, I paid ~ $1,300 to have my dog of over 10 years - Paisley’s teeth cleaned and oral health examined. Afterwards, Dr. Emma Olson informed me that she had her mouth looked great and the only thing worth noting was that only a salivary mucocele in her mouth that they drained and it was expressed to me that it wasn’t anything to be concerned about. Several months later in July, Paisley began to grow a sizable lump on her face and after being sent to a specialist, the last 6 months have included finding out that it was not a salivary mucocele at all - it was cancer - and after unsuccessfully spending thousands of dollars on radiation therapy I am now looking at only having a matter of weeks or months left with my best friend. I’m sure it was only a mistake and there were good intent

Signed up for a wellness plan for my dog and a few days later they closed the office down and expected to be paid some $400+ for two vaccines. Unethical practices and no way I’d trust my dog in their care. Several calls have been made and they don’t even have the decency to return a call but they had no problem accepting people on their wellness plan knowing they were shutting the office down with less than 24 hours notice to their customers and all existing appointments cancelled. Awful communication.

The vets here take a very narrow approach to diagnosis and treatment. Instead of troubleshooting with a full differential or considering how symptoms interact across an entire household, visits tend to focus only on the single symptom observed in the exam room that day. When patterns clearly suggest a shared or upstream cause, the process does not expand to assess all relevant data or mechanisms. Treating the symptom in front of them without gathering the larger context leaves cases looping, unresolved, and unexplained. The clinic prioritizes rigid protocol over practical, evidence-based problem solving, and it creates unnecessary stress for both pets and owners. I want to see this practice improve, but I won’t be returning.

We can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Emma and her staff. They consistently provide the most compassionate and professional care for our beloved Richard. The entire team is welcoming and makes sure Richard feels comfortable during every visit. Dr. Emma is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything clearly. We trust them completely with Richard's health and well-being. Our visits are always a positive experience, and we highly recommend them!
