Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - Franklin

A modern hospital, with friendly, competent staff. Easy parking lot - with no parking structures to navigate. My family has had procedures here, and we like the natural stone, wood and comfortable decor.

ER was good. Nurses nice and attentive. Once on the floor the nurse I had was not very good. He was not patient centered. He seemed annoyed by taking care of patients. I was in excruciating pain. Just didn't seem to want to listen. Even said, yeah yeah. I get it as he was walking out. Had a student who wanted to see how to put a monitor on and he just whipped the pads on me and said smoke over fire and ice over grass and it didn't work so it goes forget it I'll just get the aid and he never really showed the girl how to put it on or anything. He should be like a nurse in surgery or something where he doesn't have to do a lot with the patient. Danielle was a great nurse and very compassionate. Kelly K my original night ER nurse on 12/26 was one of the most rude ppl I have ever come across. Especially for someone who is in a career where compassion is key. I was coughing up blood, hit the call button & after 15 min she stomped into my room and said verbatim "what do you want? We have 2 nurses on!" When i explained i was coughing up blood, I was met with "yeah well we are doing the best we can." When i asked for the name of her supervisor she said "I'm not dealing with this," and stomped back out of my room. Based simply off my interaction with Kelly K. In the ER I would never, ever recommend going there to anyone. However, I was admitted, getting a room on the 4th floor. The nurses there were amazing. They helped make a scary situation for me not so bad. Ally, pca/cna was the BES

Normally I get my care through Aurora. But since I had an emergency situation, it was suggested I get transported to Ascension. I did decide to go to Ascension and can say they do have some very good personnel. In particular I'd like the thank the nurse who noted that the catheter installed in ER had stopped draining and did a much better job of installing the catheter. I'd also like to thank the nurse who reinstalled my IV line. It is quite a challenge to install an IV in my right arm because of years giving blood. But she got the job done. Overall, my care was acceptable, but not good enough for me to reconsider using Aurora for my primary care.

I was critically ill twice within a week. The first time was handled quickly and efficiently. Surgery was required and I went home same night. Staff was amazing. Professional and caring. Unfortunately, I had complications a few days later and had to return. Again, Surgery was required along with a week long stay. The nursing staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and many times going above and beyond to make sure i had what I needed, even if it was just to hold my hand. Amanda and Noel are rock stars! I had total confidence in my surgical team. I felt safe and well cared for. I'm home now and very thankful for my surgical team at Ascension Hospital Franklin.
