I had a very disappointing experience at the Western Dental in Carmichael,CA. Last year, I was presented with a treatment plan totaling several thousand dollars for extensive dental work. Because of the high cost, I chose to seek a second opinion while visiting my family in overseas. After examination and X-rays there, I was informed that most of the extensive treatment was not necessary, and only a few minor cavities were treated. Recently, I returned to this office for a routine check-up. X-rays were taken, and the dentist had already begun the examination. After I showed the dentist the X-ray I brought and mentioned that I had received treatment abroad and a front office staff member entered the room and informed me that they would not continue care because of the overseas treat

If I can give 0 starts I would DO NOT GO HERE. This place is absolutely disgusting and trash. They are rude and don’t know how to treat people. They rescheduled the appointment for my grandparents to be seen at the appointment I could have gone to with them and they rescheduled to a day I wasn’t able to be with them. The day eventually came and my grandpa is a cancer patient and needed a dental clearance done so we needed this appointment as soon as possible. Our insurance put them as his pcp so we made a appointment with them thinking they are good but in reality they are not. They turned down my grandparents due to them not being able to speak English well but they can perfectly understand. I have never had this experience in my whole life and I work in healthcare so instead of them help

I am writing this review to warn other patients about my extremely troubling experience at Western Dental in Carmichael.😣 While I was pregnant, I repeatedly contacted this office due to significant tooth pain. Despite providing a doctor’s note confirming that dental treatment was safe and medically necessary during pregnancy, I was refused care. I was explicitly told that no further dental treatment would be provided until after I gave birth. This left me in ongoing pain and emotional distress during a very vulnerable time. After removing my wisdom tooth, the office stated they would not treat me further solely because I was pregnant. During that same visit, I was pressured to purchase a bone graft and was told it was required for wisdom tooth extraction. I later learned this information

Western Dental cancelled my parents’ appointments simply because they need a Russian interpreter. The office said interpreters are “not their responsibility” and refused to allow phone interpretation, insisting someone must be physically present. Cancelling medical care over a language barrier is unacceptable and discriminatory. California law requires equal access to services, and this conduct raises serious legal concerns. Jason, in particular, was extremely arrogant and dismissive. His attitude toward patients who need language assistance was unprofessional and he seriously needs to reconsider how he treats people seeking care. I am filing formal complaints with the appropriate state agencies.

Highly recommend this location. I was able to get faster appointments to get my work done.. The front desk lady is friendly and the manager was very helpful with my treatment plan. Can't wait to go back.
