Nurses were the most unprofessional I have ever witnessed in a health setting. They gossiped about patients within earshot of other patients. One screamed at a patient and told the patient they could not get another nurse. She screamed and degraded the patient and everyone in that area of the ER could hear. Never went in the patients room to check on her unless they thought there were more than 2 people in the room and then you could hear her another nurse “conspire” on who was going to go in and kick the visitors out. Our nurse was constantly distracted by other nurses wanting to “chit chat” (for lack of a better way to describe it) and that’s what it was because we could hear everything. Heard full name of patient, reason they were in the ER and complete medical history including that
This was the worst ER visit in my life. I could not talk, my left leg was numb, I had full paralysis, and I was having convulsions and seizures. I was in the waiting room for an hr having convulsions. My mom was holding me, freaking out and crying. Other patients were trying to get staff attention for me. No staff bothered to check on me. When I finally got into the room. I saw the Dr. once. She pinched me and took blood work. I had multiple convulsions. My machine was making alarms like crazy. No staff bothered to check in on me. Then they sent me home. I still have the bruise on my arm and it has been over a month. I will never go back there again. Update: im back at the er. Having stroke symptoms and went into full paralysis. The lady that took me for vitals told me (her words) "if you
The evening Sept 9, 2025 my wife fell at home and hurt her back. Because her pain was intense I had an ambulance take her to UC West Chester Emergency about 10pm. She received immediate attention. They listened to what happened. They monitored her vital signs, took xrays of her back, and gave her an injection for the pain. The ER doctor checked her xrays, and fortunately did not see any fractures. He gave us an Rx for pain pills. All of the staff were so kind. When we asked for a pillow, it was quickly brought. We received the same prompt response to our request for some non-slip socks and a wheelchair when leaving. We were in and out in about 2 hrs. It was a good and helpful visit.
I am writing to express serious concerns regarding the care I received at UC West Chester Hospital after being referred from TriHealth Priority Care for worsening lower right abdominal pain, with appendicitis as a possible diagnosis. Upon arrival, I was taken back relatively quickly for blood work, then asked to wait in the lobby. After approximately four hours, I was called back and evaluated by a physician assistant, who informed me that a CT scan with contrast would be necessary to assess for appendicitis. Due to a known allergy to contrast dye, I was pre-medicated with two types of medication and also given additional IV medications for pain and nausea—a total of four IV-administered drugs. After the final medication—Benadryl—was administered, I immediately began to experience symptoms
The UC Hospital emergency room has the gold medal for lack of empathy, for having a rude attitude with patients, they stand out for their lack of customer service, for making a sick person feel worse. My husband was in so much pain in his knee that he couldn't walk. While we were in the waiting room I could see that this contemptuous treatment extended to everyone. I don't want to give details of my personal experience, which was terrible, but I can say the staff of a fast food restaurant is better trained to provide good customer service. Starting with the nurse at the front desk, the one who takes vital signs, the emergency room nurse, all of them without a drop of kindness. As a finishing touch, the nurse who took my husband out in the wheelchair did not moved a finger to help me sit h
