VelocityCare - Lexington

I needed wax removed from my right ear and was delighte to discover Veocity Care right in Lexington. I called on a Sunday and they were able to see me right away. A nurse, Tami, had a hard time but she managed to remove almost all of it with strong bursts of water. Then Dr. Childers checked my ear and advised me not to put any more drops in for a while as it needed to recover from the treatment. Everyone was pleasant and efficient.

I recently visited this urgent care and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. From the start, I felt overwhelmed having to repeatedly share sensitive and personal information with multiple staff members. When the doctor, Dr. Robert S. Childers, finally came in, I was surprised to find that he was male, especially considering the nature of my reproductive health concerns, and I was not informed beforehand. Dr. Childers appeared unaware of my medical history and the details I had already provided to the nurse, which made me feel unheard and overlooked. Despite being in significant pain and expressing concerns about heavy bleeding and a possible early pregnancy issue, my symptoms were quickly dismissed. I had a great experience here. Perhaps a 15 minute wait as other were before me. The checkin staff, nurse, and doctor we very kind, patient and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to use this facility in the future.

I have been to this urgent care several times in past two years. I’ve never had a bad experience but this last experience tops all the others. PA Kaitlyn has the best hospitality and care. Not only did she ask thorough questions and rule out other causes for my pain/sickness; she also made sure I left with medication that will help me. Besides her work ethic, professionalism and attentive care what really made me feel seen and heard was her “bedside manner.” She sat at eye level with me, looked at me and not through me. She let me talk and even reassured me of some things when she could tell I was starting to get worried. I don’t remember the nurse who brought me into the room, was a tall white slimmer male, but he’s honestly a 10/10 always and I wish I would have gotten his name to add to

I had called to get help with a burn on my finger. They referred me to the hospital. I was there a grand total of 15 minutes for them to tell me to keep it wrapped. When I spoke to the doctor, she told me that she would of helped me at Velocity care if she was working there that day. So now I am stuck with a large bill because of bad advice from velocity care. I have spoke to many departments at Carillon and no one cares what happened to me. I guess they think money grows on trees. I will never use Carillon again.
