Lived in Del Rio for 12 years, had a few encounters. One, my father fell and broke his shoulder. After several hours, he was released. When getting dressed I noticed a HUGE bruise on his hip. I told the nurse. She said it was nothing, just a result of the fall. Took him home to San Antonio. The next morning he was rushed to the ER with internal bleeding. He needed three pints of blood. Next, my personal issue. In San Antonio now and I have back surgery scheduled. The pre-op nurse calls me and wants to discuss my prior heart surgery. WHAT?? According to the records sent to them, Val Verde Regional Medical Center claims I have coronary artery disease, had open heart surgery and a mesh was installed -- at their hospital. NEVER HAPPENED!! And I don't have the scar to prove it.

Went in in agonizing pain from kidney stones. There were 2 visitors and one patient in the waiting room when my son and I arrived. I had to literally beg for help for a long time before I was finally triaged, and then immediately moved into another triage room with a camera overhead. All the while vomiting from the intense pain and begging for someone to please help me. My son finally caught a nursing student as she was passing by the room and she got me some help. It was quite sometime before meds were ever pushed to give me any relief. I’ve been a public servant for 23 years and have never witnessed medical professionals treat a patient the way I was, in the condition I was in. Absolutely horrible experience, every single one of them acted as though they couldn’t see or hear the agony I

My child arrived on time for her scheduled appointment for the orthopedics unit but the experience for us, as we are new to the area, was extremely disappointing. A gentlemen at the front desk walked us to where we needed to go. As we approached the doorway to the unit, there was a line of people waiting. Once we approach to the doorway, the staff avoided eye contact and did not acknowledge our presence, choosing instead to answer phone calls without greeting us or checking my child in. They did not direct us to go anywhere, instead just let us stand in the doorway without any guidance. Mind you they did acknowledge the two patients in front of us. After my child’s appointment time had already passed, I overheard a nurse say that my child was late and saw her make a hand gesture indicatin

Out of three knee surgeries I’ve had, Dr. Hoskins was by far the best. After my meniscus repair, I was walking within two days with minimal pain and scarring — and I didn’t need any pain medication. Dr. Hoskins is a true asset to Del Rio, and I’m so grateful he was my surgeon. I highly recommend him.

Incompetent knowledge of even basic medical issues. Horrible attitudes and gossiping about other patients. Where am I supposed uo go when my gallbladder finally Burts? They send me home like I'm not worth thier time
