UR Medicine – Strong West

Come in here with my fiancé who was super ill and extremely dehydrated. The front end staff were fabulous as soon as we walked through the door. Very compassionate and very fast getting her to the back. The nurses and doctors were also terrific. Very thorough and really listened to what my fiancé had to say. We were there for a bit to ensure she was stable, so I was in and out. To my surprise the receptionist kindly offered me a cup of coffee I was delighted. She even handed me delivered it to me while I was in the room with my lady. So very kind and thoughtful. Great experience any time we have to be here!!! I have had to visit this ER twice this past year. I have always had exceptional service. I use my VA insurance, and I’ve always been thanked at the receptionist desk for my military service. I am very grateful for that recognition. I have also been seen here for my lumbar pain. Overall, I find the facility to be very clean, responsive to patients needs, and professional. I would highly recommended Strong West in Brockport.

Absolutely horrible. Let me first start off by saying I knew I wasn’t going to get proper help when a younger woman came in sobbing stating she came in last night and was still in pain. She was begging the receptionist for someone to help her because the drs kept dismissing her problems. I went to this ER for severe chest pain. I was diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia about a year ago. Last Friday I started having a sharp pain in the left of my chest like I was having a heart attack. Today the pain became so unbearable I was crying which never happens unless I’m in excruciating pain. The Dr came in (Dr’s name was Joely Merriman, MD) told me instead of ordering a ct (what they’ve done in the past for the hernia) she ordered two X-rays. I never leave reviews in healthcare like this. However -the public should know—— I Happen to be in town from Florida. Received call from Dr advising me to go to ER I provided the ED staff with details and symptoms and History. I have been a Nurse Practitioner for many years. What was indicated was a CT scan but seeing as they didn’t have one available they did some bloodwork (d-dimmer ) and sent me home. They do not have ultrasound CT or MRI weekends or after hours. Although I had not one symptom of Covid flu or rsv they insisted 3 times testing. Even after denying. Also insisted on Tylenol and reflux medicine( PPI) yet not any reason for it $$$$$$$ No echo no ct which is what my dr asked for due to my underlying health issues and labs.( it’s not available) Do not go to the ER ….go to Park
