I truly wish I could give Dr. Alvarez 10 stars. She is an exceptional doctor. From day one my husband and I were so impressed with her knowledge, expertise and professionalism. As time has gone on I am even more impressed with her "bed side" manner. She not only is an exceptional doctor in her field, but she also actually cares about her patients as people. What a rare and precious find these days!

Like a couple of other patients, I too received a discharge letter in the mail. It took me 3 months to meet Dr. Alvarez and I saw her for 5 mins. While the PA seemed very knowledgeable, I did want more time with my doctor. She is difficult to understand as she speaks quickly with an accent. She didn't make eye contact. She was starting w 2 meds and her plan was to add a 3rd. I have mildly high cholesterol and some arterial sclerosis so these medicines are preventing a future problem. I was also prescribed the NEO 40 supplement you buy online. (It is a beet product) Im all for natural medicine. But between all the meds, supplements and the directions not to take with this and that. I was hesitant. I have a bad gastric system so I dont want to also have problems in that area. I am grateful to be a patient at Tri-County Heart Institute. I love the personal touches by Dr Alvarez and the NPs. I have a great deal of respect for those who go out of their way to make your visit comfortable, personal and caring. When I expressed concern over a small (to me) issue, Dr Alvarez took my hands and reassured me. She offered a solution and initiated the change to my prescriptions promptly. She also addressed concerns about another medication I was prescribed by my PCP and made suggestions to help minimize side effects. I love the podcasts as well!

As a new patient - waited for 1.5 hrs for a consult with Dr. Alverez to go over my bloodwork. I told the staff at the previous visit I was not doing the stress test or the CMT test as I already had a vascular screening and did not want to have to pay out of pocket for these test at this time. They scheduled up the appt. with Dr. Alverez. Waited for 1.5 hrs. a nurse came in -had to give her a breif update on my good health but told her I would prefer to discuss this with the Dr. - She said she would tell her, I said I would prefer to do this. They let me sit there and finally someone came in and said - because I did not take the stress test Dr. Alverez would not see me. Really??? you cant come in for 5 min. go over my labs and ask that I schedule it up before the next appointment??? Discus

I have been seeing Dr Alverez for over 6 years and find her to be the best in her field. Really cares about her patients I know as she cared deeply for my husband until he passed away from cancer.
