Strong Memorial Hospital

I can in all honesty rate Strong Memorial Hospital 5 plus stars. My brother recently spent 5 weeks there, first in ICU and then moved to Neuro Surgical Unit. I live in South Africa so I was unable to be there. From dealing with the Receptionist in the main entrance to the nursing staff and social workers in the Units he was in, the staff all went out of their way every time I called for updates. Nothing was too much for them, they are very polite, concerned and caring. I would love to name them all but there were so many. My brother had extremely great care there. I am forever grateful to this hospital and their fantastic staff 🩷

I really appreciate how my husband has been cared for by the cancer team at Strong Memorial Hospital. I’m very impressed with how quickly a treatment plan was put together and started. Everyone involved seems to truly work together to provide the best care possible, and that means a lot to our family during this time. The only thing that stood out to me was the cafeteria area. A few times I’ve heard employees having loud conversations that felt inappropriate for a hospital setting. Because the level of care here is otherwise so excellent, I would expect employees to carry that same professionalism even in shared spaces like the cafeteria. Overall, we are grateful for the care being provided and hope this feedback helps maintain the high standard of professionalism the hospital is known for

Stephanie Johnson is an angry human with no moral compass no passion for being a nurse and they were obviously so busy that they just had to kick me out when I should’ve been admitted for days in their nephrology department. I’ve never been more sick in my life and having rare diseases that I let the staff know about I could barely walk in, and I could barely walk out. I kept asking how I could connect their portal with a code they can provide when you are registering so that they could see my specialist labs over the weeks months and years They did not allow me to do this And refuse to show me my blood work even when they discharged me, passed out cold in the parking lot on the way out right in front of the emergency entrance and not one person helped me. I don’t know how long I was out

I am writing to formally express my concern and dissatisfaction with the care my mother received at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. She presented to the emergency room with a severe nosebleed that had persisted for over an hour. Given the nature and duration of her symptoms, I was deeply concerned about the urgency of her condition. Upon arrival, the nurse at the front desk appeared inattentive to my mother’s condition. Despite active bleeding, the nurse remained seated and did not promptly assess or address the situation. At the time, there were only two patients in the waiting room, and my mother had driven to the hospital in the middle of a snowstorm seeking urgent care. If you are very sick or dying this and Rochester general are the place to come to. When I was having heart problems they took immediate care with me made me feel comfortable and resolved my issues In the cardiology unit. Strong memorial is a heavy duty hospital that provides top care for those who are having serious medical emergencies. I love the people that work here.
