The atmosphere is beautiful. My mom was here for 4 weeks for physical therapy for her legs. She loved her PT Morgan. He was very pleasant and treated her very nicely. The nurse Shirley is a gem and definitely deserves a raise and possibly train other nurses to be more like her as far as demeanor and caring about the residents/patients because there were a few nurses/staff who were not very kind to my mom and/or said they would do something or get something for her and never returned and to find out they left for the day and left my mom hanging. Good example is my mom couldn't hear for to wax build up in both ears. The nurses were either too lazy or just didn't want to clean out her ears. She was originally told she had to see the ENT person but when she kept inquiring about when she could

My father spent the final 2.5 years of his life at St. John’s. While we were initially relieved he was placed here, we soon discovered that the "community-centered" reputation is a facade. St. John’s has dropped from a 3-star to a 1-star Medicare rating, and my family’s experience confirms why. Critical Medical Neglect & Safety Risks Dietary Hazards: Despite being a stroke survivor with aspiration risks, my father was frequently served non-pureed food and thin liquids with no staff present to assist. This was a direct threat to his life. Medical Emergency Failure: When my father was struggling to breathe with low blood pressure, nurses dismissed it. They failed to notify us when he stopped eating or when a failed IV attempt left him untreated. We had to insist on a hospital transfer; St.

Itself is okay pretty clean, the food is disgusting. The one doctor there lacks empathy, if you're burned out from your job man, just retire then or find something else .. People don't need the attitude, when their loved ones are facing death.. Most of the staff is pretty decent.. pay attention to your loved ones personal stuff, cuz it will go missing.. They lost my mother's glasses, found them and then lost them again. No reimbursement, no we'll take care of it, nothing.. At the end of the day the best place is home.

My husband has been there for 2.5 weeks. Not a good experience so far. I as his wife and advocate have had to raise holy hell to get their attention. It is impossible to talk to a doctor, PA, NP. Are they too good to communicate with family. There are many good staff members and a few that should not be there. Our goal is to get my husband home!!! I am hoping 🙏 it gets better.

We have had an amazing experience at St. John’s. My mother in law is in the Nursing Home side Hastings 1 building. The nurses and staff treat my mother in law with such respect and she loves it there! She has made many friends. Michelle the social worker has gone above and beyond for our family and we are very grateful. Thank you to everyone at St. John’s!
