Over the past 10 months I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Robert Thiele for toe and bunion correction. I am grateful for the exceptional care from first consultation through post surgical care. Dr. Thiele thoroughly explained my condition and explored all my options with me before we settled on the correct treatment. The minimally invasive surgery combined with his expertise resulted in a successful outcome and easy recovery. The entire staff at Somerset Foot and Ankle was supportive and friendly. I have been a patient at Somerset Foot and Ankle for over 4 years- first with Dr. Thiele and now with Dr. Dong. Dr. Thiele and his staff are great. I have Charcot’s and needed an ankle arthroscopy due to severe Charcot’s foot problem. Dr Dong was new to the practice and in August 2025, I made the correct decision and had surgery with Dr. Dong. His bedside manner is very patient friendly. He cares about his patients. Prior to the surgery, I was unable to walk without a walker or able to put a shoe on the foot. Dr Thiel is absolutely amazing. He's being taking care of my entire family and morning but great care. Over the years we had ingrown nails, hairline fracture, stripped nail and a few more. Everybody always received top notch care with the heart. Dr Thiel was very attentive and listened to everything we had to say, including taking his time with my kids, one after soccer injury and another after running injury.

I was referred to Dr. Thiele by a doctor that was closer to where I work. He couldn’t do the surgery at the hospital or the surgery center because of the Covid booster law. He referred me to his colleague and he said you won’t be sorry. I called and spoke with Jackie and she was very friendly and informative and I got an appointment right away. I was very impressed with Dr. Thiele immediately because he explained everything to me what to expect. I had my surgery at RWJ Somerset and the whole experience was amazing. Then he had me coming back every week and now I’m down to two weeks. I thought my recovery would be longer. I was up and walking in my sneakers and driving three weeks later.
