Refresh Dental

I am giving two stars instead of one because the dental care I received was good. However, the billing procedures here are awful. I was talked down to by the office manager who told me that I simply did not understand the billing codes from my insurance. I called and verified with Delta Dental that I was being overcharged. Again, Refresh said I was wrong and so I paid and immediately filed a grievance with the insurance. Sure enough, insurance confirmed that Refresh overcharged me by $1,080 and Delta gave me a refund. I’ve never been so gaslit by a dental office and I will never return. UC Berkeley employees and beneficiaries stay away!

Would give 0 stars if I could. I had a terrible new patient experience. My experience was very disappointing. The staff was unorganized, communication was poor, and I never felt that my concerns were properly addressed. On top of that, the billing process was unclear, and I was charged for services I did not fully understand or approve. Overall, I left feeling VERY uncomfortable and frustrated with the care I received. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a dentist who values professionalism, transparency, and patient comfort.

I went to get a cleaning and it was done so poorly. My teeth did not feel clean after. It was all so rough. I asked to fix it and the dentist said oh we dont polish here. The assistant tried to help finish the cleaning but still it doesn't feel right. I've been to other clinics so I know what the proper service feels like. If they can't do such a basic service I won't be coming back for anything else.

Dr. Dang & Staff are caring and considerate, as well as having professional expertise. I think this is a very good group for dental care! On a return visit to discuss a plan of action going forward staff were, wonderful, and Dr. Dang had an open discussion about which things took priority, which could wait, and which could be revisited. He also took time to revisit progress from our prior visit. I recommend the practice highly.

Overall excellent services by staff & Dr. Chan. Good explanation of procedures, services etc. I'd give 5☆ if it had been easier to see their door office # & if they validated for parking, $15.00!
