MedStar Health: Urgent Care in Wheaton

I was pleasantly surprised, I was able to be seen quickly. From the receptionist, to the Doctor and the X-ray technician, everyone was professional, caring, polite and respectful. I realized that this is where I want to go when I need medical attention. The Doctor was wonderful, and explained everything to me. Gave me my Orthopedic Doctor telephone number, and also physical therapy. She was outstanding. I felt great after I talked to her. It was a great experience.

Care was good. Greeted by a friendly and capable young woman. Helped me fill out my forms, very patient. It did take a long time to see a care provider, 45 minutes. He was good, thorough.

The process of getting an appointment and being seen on time is amazing! I walked right in a few minutes before my appointment time and barely had to wait. Ultimately they couldn’t handle my issue and I had to go to the ER, but anytime I need urgent care I will be back here!! (And for what it’s worth the ER couldn’t even handle my issue… I have to see a specialist and have surgery… )

This was my second experience here and it was so much better than the first time which was about a year and a half ago. Front desk was kind and fun. The staff member that did my vitals was compassionate. The PA was thorough and the radiologist was thoughtful.

Very disappointed when compared to a previous experience several years ago. Fell on black ice and experienced severe pain and weakness in arm. No one even looked at my arm, other than the radiologist, it was determined that I had a small fracture in my upper arm, given a sling, told to take Tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain and told to follow up with orthopedics in about a week. The nurses’ assistant didn’t even know how to set up the sling. It was so poorly I had to google it and redo it at home. The minimal I was expecting was to speak with a doctor or RN to explain my issues, but that didn’t happen. Felt they just wanted to get my copay and get me out the door.
