Belive the 1 star reviews about the "emergency department" and go somewhere else. I had a horrible experience with night staff in December 2025 when I was in this ER. The lack of care and compassion shown to me during my time there was shocking - the only positive experience was the risk manager, who I reported my detailed complaint to. She was very kind when she took my information. After they completed an "thorough investigation," the COO sent me a letter that had blatant falsehoods in it, including that there were 8 other patients in the ER (who were more critical than I was) on the evening I came in. I must've been there at the same time as another review. The date was 2-5-26. I could here them talking about the patients also. One of the nurses referred to her food as looking like wrinkled up old man with jaundice. I think it was a hamburger patty with Cheese melted on top because she didn't want a bun. Apparently they do not like old people. In reference to the woman that couldn't breathe. A nurse went in once, but didn't anything for her. A long while later another nurse went in, and then a second nurse went in. They ended up sectioning at least a liter out of her. I cannot say enough good things about KMC Andover. I want to specifically shout out ICU night nurse Sam. The attention he gave my mom the 1st 2 nights after surgery was above top notch. I would also like to say how Elizabeth and Cade really made my mom feel safe and comfortable. I know there were MANY other nurses and respiratory nurses that also helped my mom recover and I wish I could mention every single one because all of them gave everything they had to care for her. Oh this clinic and just about all the staff are insanely rude! They are uncaring. Not kind at all. My mother was in for a pretty big surgery, I told the first nurse that my mother needed pain medicine or something to make her more comfortable. As she was just out a few hours from surgery and in the recovery process. The nurse said "im not comfortable with that". So I told her to call and ask her doctor. Then I asked when will the doctor come in as we had questions. Their response "I dont keep his schedule". She should have had pain meds every 4 hours and they constantly run an hour behind. My mother was in tears of pain multiple times. I had left town to go home and she calls me crying. So I call up there n they let the phone ring for 10-15 mins n when I get through as soon as im transferr

I think there is a lot of hippa violations at Kansas medical center. I was able to hear the nurses making fun of patients in recovering while they were eating their meal, and I'm sure everyone else could too. THEY DID TAKE CARE OF THE MEN PAIENTS. That is wrong. I don't care whether it is someone that can't breathe because they have excessive phielm is there respitory after surgery or the person asking for a bed pan or pain medication. The patient that was saying she couldn't breathe and asking for help took them forever to help her. If they don't want to be a nurse they need to find another profession.
