Dr. Balbour has been taking care of my dog Buddy since he was a pup. She has been very proactive in keeping him healthy. Everyone in the office is kind and compassionate. Buddy will be 16 in a few months and is in amazing shape, largely thanks to Dr. Balbour.

My entire family appreciates Dr Shona Balbour. She is the best. So kind and very thorough with our dog for the past 13.5 years even on her last days .The entire team had the compassion for our loving Leila. We trusted them from her care to boarding. Dr. Balbour has the expertise that I never saw with other vet, like she treated Leila like her own. Thank you Island vet team specially Dr. Balbour for everything.

Island Veterinary Hospital At first entrance with my cat about 12 years ago, Dr. Balbour flat out told me she had cancer and was going to die in 3 months. I panicked and asked if she could get an x-ray. Turns out she did NOT have cancer at all. 12 years later… Fast-forward to a month ago when my Pebbles was running out of insulin… I tried to set up an appointment so I could get more. This Vet made it extremely difficult. I am handicap and always have someone bring my cats to the vet. That person works and has always dropped her off. Then Dr. Balbour decided that she wasn’t allowing any more drop-offs. I had a difficult time trying to figure out what to do.
