Health First Urgent Care

We LOVE this urgent care! We have come here multiple times for both our kids and ourselves and have never had a bad experience. When my son was 18 months, he had RSV and his ped at the time lost his test results. We kept calling and calling as he worsened to find out what we were dealing with. Went to Health First after a week of this and within 24 hours, they called us with the results of a full respiratory panel. He came back with a double virus, one being RSV. They gave us clear instructions on exactly how to treat him at home and what to watch for. I was amazed at the thoroughness of this clinic! On another occasion, they quickly diagnosed my husband when he had bacterial pneumonia and called his antibiotics in right away. And just today, we went in to get my son's laceration redressed

I booked my appointment online and checked in with the kiosk. I like how fast and convenient the booking of the appointment and checking in were. I hope they keep this feature. I was also seen right away, which I also really liked a lot. The place was decently clean. However, I am not satisfied with the experience I had with the PA who saw me. I think she could work more on her approach as I felt a little bit uncomfortable with her facial expressions and just overall service. I also did not feel heard. I just wanted her to run blood tests or point me in the right direction as to where I could obtain them, and she kept explaining her reasons as to why I shouldn’t. At the end of the day, it’s my health and I am paying for these services, so it doesn’t feel good to be dismissed. It comes off

4 stars only because it was a 3½ hour ordeal! Otherwise 5 stars would be my rating! They did amazing job with the amount of patients and only 1 practitioner! Treated my son complaining of massive headaches and sore throat. They did great with him as he is not super coroperative!

We’re here because our pediatrician is out of town. There is no other option outside of urgent care or the ER . We came in with a detailed history. Dr Nelson discarded my son’s significant asthma history and said… it’s a virus. Over the counter treatment for 7-10 days. Refused antivirals. Refused to look at his history of needing steroids and inhaler. Refused to do nasal swab stating it didn’t matter because it was vital. Again to reiterate, there was no testing done to offer a viral diagnosis . He said we could take more than the bottle of over-the-counter medication’s direct if it’s not working ! But gave no direction on which ones specifically and how much extra etc. just said to take more of it .He totally discarded every concern. An absolute disgrace and waste of time of over an hour

Dr. Nelson, the nurse and the front desk were amazing! This is our go to place for urgent treatment. I have a special needs son and the front desk person, went above and beyond to accommodate him! The nurse was patient, kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Nelson has the best bedside manner, very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to prescribe the correct medicine for an ongoing illness! Thanks a million for the great service you provide our family.
