Essentia Health Urgent Care-West Duluth

My doctor, April Jacobson, was attentive, kind, patient, and informative. She did a great job of providing information to me clearly and calmly. I didn’t catch the name of the kind nurse who checked me in, but she was also lovely.

I am a medical traveler on contract working in Duluth at Essentia. I went to this urgent care for for a 9 out of 10 painful soar throat. I explained that I did an e-visit with a tele doc online and was prescribed antibiotics. I told her my throat is keeping me up and along with the coughing and swallowing it is causing pain. I told her I made an appoint already for a family doc but the appointment is not until Tuesday. The Office told me if I could not hold out till Tuesday, go to urgent care which is what I did.. The PAC at West Duluth urgent care only decides to switch antibiotics and tells me I could probably cancel my appointment Tuesday. Absolutely not! I am in a lot of pain and was trying to avoid going to the ER to spend an obscene amount of money. I never been to a worthless ap

Our wait was almost 2 hours while I was waiting with a crying infant and a toddler. The registration staff were very unhelpful to parents waiting and giving vague answers about how much longer it would be and if it was ok to step outside for a while, and gave out incorrect and inconsistent information. Go somewhere else if you can!

Everyone here has always been so kind to my children and myself. Sometimes the wait is long BUT it’s understandable! I would rather wait knowing they aren’t rushing through everyone and actually doing a great job. Which they DO.

Speed of service was slow but that’s just paperwork. Everyone was super nice and the Lpn and cpa took time to explain what I needed to do to feel better. Thank you all for being open on Sundays when I needed it. Stay safe and get your flu shot!
