Hearing Wellness Center

After checking out various providers, I started going to Hearing Wellness Center in 2014. I’m very glad I chose them. I slipped effortlessly into my first set of hearing aids, which lasted nine years (longer than my glasses). There have been adjustment issues with my second set and I’m experiencing the full depth of this very capable staff. They are committed to getting the details just right. I’ve personally seen two of the Doctors of Audiology, Sara Downs and Jonathan Gervais. In addition they have excellent audiology assistants who can troubleshoot small details between appointments, such as trying different domes or wire lengths. Robin has always been helpful and very good with the public. It took her just a few minutes to get my hearing aid working again. H.W. was able to see me the same day as I called and solved the issue.

Back in 2007 in Iraq I was blown up by a roadside bomb that detonated about 3-4 feet away from where I was seated in my humvee. To illustrate how that affected my hearing all I can really say is it was a big enough bomb to tear the back end of our heavily armored truck clean off it, basically everything from right behind my head and back from there blew off/was ripped clean off the rest of our truck and I personally never saw where the heck it went. My hearing went away for a few moments after the detonation and when it returned, it returned with ringing/tinnitus that was very loud relative to ambient noise. When one of my hearing aids quit charging, and I called the Superior Office where I bought my hearing aids, she found an appointment for me almost immediately in Duluth, as I was already in Duluth. That was very fortunate as my hearing aid had to be sent to the company and I would be without it for a week or more.
