Elderwood at Grand Island

Very scary 6 months of my life there for rehabilitation to walk again due to severe nerve damage, my entire body was helpless…I have just so many things to say that wouldn’t fit here…I feel bad for the pple that worked there during my time there, 2019-2020 that had to help me because I don’t think I was ever meant to be there at all honestly, they were ill equipped to help someone in my condition while being there, I was meant to be in the hospital. But I survived, I hope they all did too… 🙏🕊️ Today I’m fully recovered…since 2020.

Honestly I’d give negative if I could. Went to pick up my grandmothers things since she passed away after being transferred from their facility to the hospital and they literally lost her things. So not only do I have to deal with losing my grandmother & taking care of the end of life responsibilities, I also now have to deal with her things being lost. Oh & they handed me a box of things that weren’t hers. Anyone missing their grandmas things? I’m honestly appalled and disgusted.

Had my Dad here for respite week. The staff was wonderful and Dad said he gained friends. To hear him say that when he really was nervous to go, means everything. Thank you to all staff on second floor and reception in lobby. Truly appreciate you all!

If you decide to go to rehab here or leave a family member here. Beware of the follwing. Food is not edible most days. They will tell you you're eating in your room. You will not be taken out of room for any activities. You will get pt for an hour or less per day. You will wait up to an hour if you hit nurse button. You may not be given pillows or blankets. This happened 3 x, was told no linens available. Some nights you will have plastic pillow with no pillowcase. You may walk in and see loved one with tray across room meaning no access to water. You may see nurse call button on floor on a cord across room they can't reach. You will need to get them water and ice because pitcher will be empty. If you ask nurses any questions they will yell at you and I mean arms in the air yelling. If

Glad the entire experience is over! Hope to never see a loved one in this place again The absolute disregard for the elderly is horrible. Place should be and hopefully will be shut down. If not, they need New owners- feed edible food! New staff New aides Pt and Mellissa in business are awesome.
