CityMD Pelham Manor Urgent Care - Bronx

What a fantastically warm and courteous experience at this well kept and operated City MD. For starters, front desk was incredibly gracious and checked me in promptly . Then upon entering the room to get checked for my appointment, Mike, an angel and Godsend of a medical employee exhibited such awesome bedside manner. For starters, he conducted himself awesomely and being that I am a hard stick when dealing with drawing blood, he managed to, ON THE FIRST INSERT, get a vein. I cannot stress how rare this is for me. Give that man a raise! He is why I will return. Thank you and happy new year

I’ve been to CityMD many times in the past and it was pretty decent. However the past two times were absolutely unacceptable. In my most recent visit, I was seen by David Shenker (the MD title should be revoked) and he was a pig. I came in with excruciating pain in my tonsils and throat. They were inflamed with white spots all over and red sores. A rapid test was taken and it all came back negative. Rapid tests aren’t always accurate which is why you need to look in the patients mouth and consider other factors. I told him I had fever nonstop since the day before. I even had a fever in the office and not one Tylenol was given to me to break it. I was dismissed. He barely looked my mouth and said “ it’s just a virus”. I broke down crying saying it felt like strep and not just a regular ton

BEST urgent care experience I've ever had. For basic, urgent health issues, like pink eye which was my issue, it's the perfect in-and-out clinic. Easy parking, walked in with no appointment, signed paperwork electronically, every single staff member was lovely, friendly and helpful. I got my eye drops and the prescription was sent to my pharmacy instantly. No issues. It was breezy and pleasant.

The front desk staff was kind and professional, and they were the only positive part of this visit. Unfortunately, this was the second time my daughter has had a negative experience at this location, and this time it was with a different physician, which is very concerning. The doctor, Dr. David Shenker, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He showed no empathy, rushed through the visit, and made my daughter feel unheard and uncomfortable. She left the appointment crying, which should never happen as a result of a medical visit. Urgent care patients come in vulnerable, sick, and worried. The male front assistant is extremely unprofessional and ill-informed. Tried charging me for a $75 co-pay that I don’t have. He states in a rude tone “You do have a $75 co-pay look at the front of your card”after I showed it to him. I asked him what is he talking about? It clearly says CityMD urgent care specifically is $55 on the front of my card. I guess he was annoyed that I pointed out that he was wrong he then starts lying about an overdue bill after telling me that they don’t bill and all payments are due at the time of service. Terrible customer . He then tells me I have to pay the alleged overdue balance of $40 (How’s it $40 when my co-pay is $55 or $75 for all other urgent cares ).
