I was in chronic neck and should pain to the point I couldn’t leave my house. I called Dr Gu’s office for an appointment and his nurse called me right back and fit me in. He found that I had a pinched nerve. He prescribed a steroid and fit me in a few days for an injection. Under a week, I am almost pain free. Dr. Gu is a thorough professional with years of experience and excellent patient-tending skills. He explained what I was dealing with and reassured me and took care to explain the whole process. Careful and caring he showed me the MRI digital picture and indicated where my pinched nerve was and where he had injected the epidural. My relief was almost instant which I was told was the lidocaine, but when that wore off the epidural steroid injection blocked my back pain. Ten days later I am almost pain free and able to function better than I have for many months. I highly recommend Dr. Gu for relieving back pain.

My experience with Dr Gu was horrific. He hollered at me because my blood sugar was up even after I explained that I had been on two rounds of steroids. As far as the procedure was concerned he and his staff were cold and no one offered to assist me a 76 year old in a wheelchair, on to the table and never explained what was going to happen, my clothes were suddenly yanked down and nothing was said to me during the procedure. When he was finished I was rushed off the table and out the door. I Have had 7 other epidurals over the years and have always been treated with dignity and respect. I would not have even given one star except that’s the only way I could leave a review.
