I have a very medically and psychiatrically challenged client who recently moved into long term care at Waterview Lodge. Although initial communication/collaboration was a bit of a challenge, this was comfortable to discuss and successfully resolved. The overall care has been extremely good. Staff are attentive, caring and very available to the clients. Medications are administered in a timely fashion. The environment is clean, well organized and easy to navigate. Care plan meetings are regularly held, helpful, with goals reviewed and new ones established. Administration is attentive, values being kept informed about the clients and becomes appropriately involved in any and all concerns raised. My grandmother has been living at Waterview Lodge, and I can honestly say it has been an amazing experience for her and for our whole family. The moment you walk through the front doors, it feels like you’re stepping into a five-star hotel,, beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The facility is spotless, thoughtfully designed, and truly stunning. But what makes Waterview Lodge stand out even more is the people. My mom has been residing at Waterview Lodge since she fractured her hip and was unable to return to her home. I cannot thank the staff enough for their compassionate care and support during this difficult and emotional transition. The case management team was especially tactful, caring, and understanding, guiding our family through every step with patience and clarity. Everyone here is exceptionally kind, and the entire atmosphere radiates comfort and warmth. The facility is also kept very clean, which adds tremendously to the sense of safety and well-being. The nurses are highly knowledgeable and respond promptly to any medical concerns. My mom has been at Waterview Lodge for rehab after breaking her hip at 96. The level of care she has received from both the nursing and physical therapy staff has been exemplary. She was in rough shape when she got there, but they've worked so hard to make her feel comfortable and at home. She has improved dramatically, though her issues with dementia still persist. But I feel confident knowing that she's receiving the best care possible as she transitions into long term care. Special shout out to Donna, the second floor nurse and Nicole, the director of physical therapy. But all of the staff she's been in contact with have been so kind and attentive. Roach-infested, unsanitary, and dangerously unsafe. My husband was repeatedly neglected—left sitting in dried feces and urine for an undetermined amount of time. What made everything worse was the complete inability to communicate with staff. Roughly 99% of the CNA’s did not speak English. I couldn’t ask questions, express concerns, or get basic updates about my husband’s care. It felt like shouting into a void. There were practically no RNs available to oversee care or provide clarity. The few nurses present seemed unqualified and extremely incompetent. They never showered my husband and consistently disregarded his dignity. Leadership is fully aware of these issues and does everything possible to cover them up.
