Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital: Emergency Room

This has been the worst experience at an ER I have ever had. From the start the front desk rep is rude. I waited over 4 hrs. (Pregnant and bleeding) with no updates. The EMS staff (Larry) lied about checking for updates. Without even knowing my name then when he was called out about it said I was rude for asking for an update and would not take the time to get more information. They have given out wrong paperwork to patients with incorrect names. And lost patients who walked out with medical equipment still attached. Then was moved from the man waiting room to a chair in the hall after complaining. All of this after being given IV fluids in a waiting room.

I had one of the most difficult experiences of my life in the Emergency Department at Vanderbilt Wilson County. I came in not feeling well at all—I was lightheaded, weak, and fearful I might have Covid (a very emotional concern for me, as I lost my sister to Covid complications almost three years ago). Unfortunately, my first interaction with the Patient Representative, Satin, was extremely negative. She rushed me through standard questions, asked for my identification in a harsh way, and said, “I’m not going to do this with you today” in a tone that made me feel dismissed and unwelcome. In the state I was in, I did not have the energy to be combative, so I walked out of the hospital in tears. The staff was so caring, knowledgeable, and kind. They got us in, seen, and gone as quickly as possible. Everyone we worked with was lovely and we appreciate them.

I just recently had to speed overnight at VWCH due from having totally knee replacement surgery and all staff was so nice and helpful. All my Nurses and Tecks were awesome, Thank you to all VWCH Staff for all your hard work and dedication in the medical field. VWCH Has Rock Star ⭐⭐ STAFF 🙏❤️

If I could give minus stars I would. I took my daughter there for stomach issues, we were in the ER for over five and a half hours waiting with an IV going in her arm. They resorted to having to take vitals of people in the waiting room as well as waiting patiently sitting there with iv fluids hanging from poles. In order to enter the emergency room you had to go through a security checkpoint and have your items searched. The organization was absolutely atrocious. I worried never recommend an ER that operates like this one. Vanderbilt should be ashamed to have their name affiliated with it. On the only positive note, I will say the staff was kind and caring considering what they were up against.
