Valley View Manor Nursing Home

the place smells like a diaper, not enough staff to handle the number of patients. Most of the staff genuinely care, but they're overworked and exhausted. They're all under the thumb that is for profit health care.

I was horrified by the disposition of the nursing staff at Valley View, The listlessness of its residents wandering aimlessly while staff bickered amongst each other completely oblivious that I stood there watching and waiting for assistance from them, I arrived to visit my friend who had been there less than a week , he called me stating they tried to get him to sign his home over to them, they left him unattended in a doorway and when he passed out they sent him to the ER..they didn’t want to tell me where he was. My friend who had ongoing hope for recovery and returning home at some point had a strong will to survive, yet knowing he would return to Valley view he gave up his fight. He passed away this morning. Which may very well been inevitable but I am mortified by the overall vibe of

I stayed in Valley view nursing home and rehabilitation center for strengthening for two weeks. In the course of the two weeks I stayed there I had to spend my own money for food because most of the food that I received there was either uncooked or just plain cold or terrible, when offered alternative options, those options were never supplied. A good number of times once your food tray was taken they never brought back what they claimed was going to be given to you. I myself have witnessed employees tell patients that they would come back to care for them and show back up 5 hrs later to assist them. Not all employees are this way, I have also met a few that were exceptionally hard working and went above and beyond the call of duty to help myself and my roommate to the fullest of their ab

Do not send your loved ones here if you care about dietary needs. The food they give to patients is the equivalent of pet food. An exotic animal at a zoo eats better than the LTC patients at this facility. They are worse than most VA facilities too.

I went today to see my husband who is in critical condition and the Director of Nursing came out and was very nasty, she didn’t explain herself or said hi or anything. She just jumped me I couldn’t see my husband. She said because he drank water he is considered no longer critical anymore.. I got upset and I asked why not as I had been there the day before. She got very nasty. I left quite upset. Her name is Jo Henderson. You would think she would have been a little more compassionate being she is a nurse?? I have nothing but good things to say about this place but she will be the one to bring this place down.. Someone should have a real good talk with her. Can I also say it was the nursing home that called me to say my husband was critical. I have been visiting three or four times a week.
