UPMC Williamsport

The building is old but well maintained. It was also free. The staff that worked with us were fantastic, especially Laurie! She went way out of her way to get wheel chairs and personally take us where we needed to be. She even came back for my husband, after my surgery, and wheeled him back to the Inn. She recruited others to help us as well. We are very grateful for her kindness.

Very mixed feelings about my stay here. First, I came into the E.R. on doctor's orders to check on a possible infection. The staff there was excellent and I was seen by a very capable doc. They ended up admitting me for five days to blast me with broad spectrum antibiotics and stabilize my blood readings since I was just 8 weeks past having open heart surgery. The nursing staff and support personnel were first rate. Wonderful folks. However, it was not until day THREE that I saw a physician other than my E.R. doc -- the hospitalist who apparently was monitoring my progress on paper...she was not confidence-inspiring, as she was unsure and changed theories and regimens several times in short order. It has a Subway! The lobby is lovely and has a piano, for romance deuts. If it was free, that would be nice. In general, a location to avoid unless your visit is scheduled! In moments of haste, the hospital is a mostly adequate giving of care choice. You can get lost easily, but that isn't a negative, sometimes. The Eagle statue in the southern forecount is neat. Hmm. Would’ve gave zero stars & that’s telling a lot. Don’t come here. Especially at this location, it’s not worth the time & there’s better places to visit. Some of those medical workers are unprofessional & are enabled to disrespect patients, especially minority ones. One of the male workers was giving dirty looks to random patients in the waiting room. I suspect due to racial prejudice & also sexism, he didn’t do it to the non-minority patients in that place. Another worker was performing blood-work on a patient & she was behaving in a passive-aggressive demeanor from the get-go. She was talking in a catty, rude manner & tone the entire time. Then her strange, unstable behavior escalated towards the patient who was actually calm & civil during the entire encounter, unlike her. Assumed h

Just do better Williamsport!! Small kid with a dog bite to his face was just leaking blood and fluids all over the floor and chairs. Poor kid sat for hour 45 mins before being seen. I was there with my kid for a head injury that happened at school and we sat for 2and half hours. I left, went to Muncy hospital and I’ll be giving them a 5 star. Better facility, better faculty, better service, more compassionate!! In and out within a hour or less. Like I said, do better Williamsport. FYI for anyone with a rebuttal, 10 years in the area and Williamsport ER hospital only ever disappoints!!! Never a good experience here. I know I’m not the only one to agree!!
