UNC Urgent Care at Hillsborough

I needed a Covid, RSV and flu swab but was unable to get an appointment with my primary care provider. My provider’s recommendation of Hillsborough Urgent Care worked great. Jamie the nurse was quick, compassionate and effective. I saw Claire Ramos the P.A. after my test results came back (took approx. a half hour). Claire was everything you could ask for in a medical professional: informative, collaborative, compassionate and totally on top of things. This turned out to be a great experience. Highly recommend; everything from checking in to being seen and leaving was very friendly and efficient. Really hard to ask for anything more. The nurse was very nice. Took my vitals and left saying the dr would be in in a minute… it was 1.5 hrs :/ then when he finally came in told me he could do a covid test/rsv/flu but those are viruses so they would have to run their course anyway…. Told me 3 different times he couldn’t do anything for me

Waste of money. I went this weekend with (possible) herniated disc. The 'physician talked to me for about 5 minutes and then wrote me a prescription for prednisone. No physical exam, no assessments. Hell, I could have gotten that from a teladoc appointment. I wanted some confirmation and also something for the excruciating pain. On to my PCP now I guess.

Supposedly closes at 8:00 PM. I arrived at 7:41 in pain with something stuck in my left eye and was told that they were no longer receiving patients. Glad my issue wasn’t life threatening.

To all the staff who worked during the 1:00-2:30 urgent care visit, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your quick response to my medical emergency. I experienced an asthma attack on my way home and rushed to the nearest urgent care without an inhaler. Upon my arrival, the wonderful front desk staff remained calm and worked quickly to get me checked in. Within five minutes or less, I was brought back to a room. The nurse was incredibly kind, stayed calm, and attentively monitored my vital signs throughout the process. Taylor M. Medeiros, PA, arrived shortly after my vitals were taken.
