The Cat Doctor

We relocated from New Jersey to Whitney Point, NY with our five senior cats. In less than three years, we had to euthanize four of our senior cats due to kidney failure. This past Spring, we had a very young stray female cat (Lucinda) become a member of our family and we were in need of a new veterinarian for various reasons. After some extensive searching of Google Maps Reviews, we found The Cat Doctor in Vestal, NY about 40 minutes from our home. Both the owner, Dr. Darcy Sobel and Dr. Kaitlin Pace has provided exceptional care for Lucinda. The Cat Doctor was a fantastic experience. My cat had been having a medical issue for a while and we had many communication issues with our old vet during this time, The Cat Doctor was able to squeeze her in and get her seen quickly. The office was beautiful, every staff member was extremely friendly, and helpful. The communication was prompt, clear, and fantastic! My cat is feeling great now and back to 100% normal. I'm very glad to have found this vets office!

We have had a great experience taking our cats to The Cat Doctor. Dr Sobel is very knowledgeable and she really cares about making sure our cats get the best care possible. We recently had to let go of one of our cats and she couldn’t have done more to care for our beloved pet and to support us as we said goodbye. I haven’t worked with Dr Pace or Dr Lea as much but they have also been great with our cats. The admins are also phenomenal. Lisa and Misty are responsive and supportive. And I’ve never had a tech that concerned me at all when handling my cats. You will probably spend a little more, it’s been awhile since I’ve shopped around for a vet. I don’t regret the money spent as I know they care about our loved ones almost as much as we do.

My favorite veterinarian I’ve ever found. Dr. Sobel and the rest of the team are so amazing, kind, and caring. Shout-out to Lisa at the front desk who always knows each of the clients coming in and remembers present and past pets! Dr. Sobel was amazing with my two rats - one who needed 4 surgeries to remove tumors, and did so well under Dr. Sobel’s care. Now all of our cats go here, and we couldn’t be happier!

I would give them even more stars if possible. If you want a veterinarian who TRULY CARES about your fur baby, this is the place. I promise. When I say Dr. Sobel went way, WAY above and beyond anything you could ever dream of in a vet, it's a total understatement (um, doing rounds on a Sunday and texting me pics to reassure me that my kitty was really doing fine in the hospital). She not only restored my old guy to health and happiness (our first and only appointment) from a nasty case of Pancreatitis, she kept in touch and continued to guide and direct me to the right place even after I moved out of state 2 weeks later. The world NEEDS more people like her!
