Allison D Manning, FNP

As a plus-size woman, it has always been difficult for me to find a primary care provider who truly understands my body and my needs. Allison is that provider, and I honestly don’t know what I’d do if she ever left the practice. She listens, she empathizes, and she makes every appointment feel more like a conversation with a trusted friend than a typical doctor visit. She gives you the space to talk, really hears what you’re saying, and takes it seriously. Most importantly—she cares. She has caught issues through simple blood tests that many previous doctors overlooked. For example, when I told other providers about my extreme fatigue, their only response was “lose weight.” Allison ordered bloodwork and discovered my Vitamin D was severely low. Allison is very respectful of the wishes of this old lady who is very uncomfortable dealing with things medical. She always tries to show me options. I’m not sure that the intake person is completely comfortable with the English language. I feel like she sometimes misunderstands. The office staff are considerate and efficient. We had worked something out that would make it easier for me to get a blood test closer to my home. But one of Allison’s staff changed that back to what Allison had ordered. When I spoke to Allison about the change , she didn’t know anything about it and assured me that if something was better for me, that was fine with her . That indicates miscommunication to me. In this case, it wasn’t a big deal, but I would’ve preferred it the easier way.

Allison and her staff are always very professional and kind. I have never had any type of problem with Allison as a provider or her office staff. I am always very impressed with how quick, courteous, helpful, and professional they all are.

Allison is so great to work with as we work through my daughter’s health issues. From typical well visits to dreaded sick visits, she takes the time to truly listen to us about our concerns. She explains in detail to us and our daughter about any test or referrals and why they are so important. This greatly helps our daughter and has even helped her over come her fear of throat/nasal swabs and even needles. She is also always available to fill out our medical forms for the school in a prompt manner which is extremely helpful given the need for emergency med orders to have on hand. Allison has been a God send and we are thankful to have found her.

I recently underwent back surgery out of town. The Physician recommended that I have the stitches taken out locally. I have seen Allison Manning a few times before when my primary was not in. She is always pleasant and most competent! She was kind and most skilled in removing the sutures from my lumbar region and I didn't feel a thing! Thank you, Allison!
