The Body Mechanic

I had two massages with Daniel in August 2025 at his Bellingham location. In my search for the "right" therapist for me, I previously had massages with four practitioners in Bellingham, and although they were each good in their own way, Daniel is light years ahead of them in his use of just the right technique and level of pressure to give the perfect massage. I was amazed at his level of skill and attentiveness to my body's needs. In our pre-and post-massage conversations he was very pleasant to interact with and I felt as comfortable as I have ever felt in a massage setting. I think that for the 90-minute price, which is comparable to other massage therapists, I received 150% of the "massage value" compared to others. Very awesome experience with Daniel, 10/10. The intake form was super thorough so when I arrived we quickly breezed through my problem areas and got started. The massage itself was super intuitive. Daniel took our convo and used it to craft a great experience. Highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of receiving a massage from Daniel, and it was an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. Daniel was incredibly professional, attentive, and took the time to ask about any areas of tension or discomfort. The massage itself was both relaxing and therapeutic, with just the right amount of pressure to release tension without feeling uncomfortable. I left feeling completely rejuvenated and much lighter, with noticeable improvements in my pain areas.

I have seen Rex now for a multitude of issues: from tight back, arms, legs and neck and shoulders. He is amazing at getting to the root of the problem by doing deep tissue work and a variety of methods like cupping and fascia work. As a physical therapist myself and who stays active, lifting a lot, I rely of practitioners like Rex to keep my own body functioning their best. This is my second review for The Body Mechanic, the first being a review for the owner, Daniel, who is also amazing.

I have been a loyal client of Daniel's since he opened The Body Mechanic several years ago..His massage surpasses all expectations. If he was applying pressure in one area, his other hand was providing a sense of soothing flow. His remarkable massage skill and kind demeanor inspires trust. He has given me some helpful recommendations for follow-up self-care. On Daniel's recommendation, I gave Rex Nichols a try a year or so ago, and I am now also his loyal client. I find Rex to be a genius/savant at massage. He is indefatigable in finding ways to free up my body. He has even done research on my issues outside of our sessions. How great is that!
