Tampa General Hospital Crystal River

I read some reviews and was surprised at the comments. I spent two days in Room 208 at TGH Crystal River and was treated exceptionally well. The nurses, Aslyn, Maggie and Mahia and the Charge Nurse were wonderful. The two night nurses were compassionate and caring. I was not ignored. They were constantly looking in on me and helping me. All these nurses were efficient, caring, professional and super NICE. I consider myself lucky to be treated so well.

Had an excellent surgical experience. Everyone was attentive, polite, and professional. Holly and Alex took great care of me in pre-op and explained everything. My OR team including Tamara, Mustafa, James, Genevieve, Mel, and more; put me at ease. Also, a big thank you to all that I don’t remember because of the Anesthesia. There was great communication with me and my family throughout the whole process.

I came to the hospital due to a slip and fall. Nurse Shelby was absolutely phenomenal in meeting my needs and advocating for my care. In addition, she appeared kind, concerned and full of life, although it was almost 1 am. I appreciate all of her efforts while I was very vulnerable and in a lot of pain. Kudos to Nurse Shelby!!! Thank you very much:)

Let’s first start with, The ER team was fabulous, professional, quick, and to the point. Addressed the issue and treated my father promptly. Then on to the 3rd floor. The regular nurse we had for 5 days was, “new” “inexperienced” and talked entirely too much about things she shouldn’t have been talking about (other patients). She often forgot meds, an admitted to such. While she was “nice” she was unprofessional, and didn’t do a great job at being a nurse. Then onto ICU, CAN NOT THANK THAT TEAM ENOUGH!!!!! THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY the only people in the hospital who knew what was going on. Who took care of my father. Who paid attention to his actual needs. I have had to file numerous complaints regarding not only the level of care that my husband received, but also the billing issues. My husband came in for stomach pain, severe vomiting, and dehydration. The nurse tried to insert an IV three times but failed due to dehydration. We were billed for an IV, pain meds, fluids, etc. The standard IV attempts for one person is no more than two. After that, they should find either a phlebotomist, or use a ultrasound machine in order locate the vein for placement. Neither was done. He was sat out in the hallway next to another gentleman who was suffering from a kidney stone blockage. Literally, sitting in the hallway. No privacy. Complete HIPPA violation.
