Sylvan Veterinary Hospital

My 12 year old dog was seen on 12/13/25 and given a new med. He died suddenly on 12/15. I called the office on 12/16 and told the young woman he died. She replied that she would make a note in his chart and asked if I needed anything else. I said no, because he is dead. She said she would tell the Dr's. Her compassion was underwhelming. Hearing nothing, I called back 12/17 and spoke to another young woman who apologized and said no note was left for the Dr's. She assured me someone would call me back. Nothing. I texted them a few days later about my disappointment that noone contacted me. Nothing. I received a generic sympathy card with a letter hitting me up for donations to their ER fund this week- one month later. Pathetic. I will never recommend this practice.

I don’t know where to begin. The staff is truly amazing, from the front desk to the medical staff. My 2 year old cat was having severe urinary issues and every single step of the way the doctors talked me through everything and gave me every option I possibly had. Every time I called they got him in right away. He had 3 surgeries and I got a phone call after each one along with follow up phone calls to update me on his condition. He was very close to not making it but the team at Sylvan worked together and did everything they could to send my baby back to us healthy and well. I also got phone calls from the staff to check up on him and see how he was doing. They are an amazing team of experts. I’m so thankful for Sylvan.

On a few occasions, I can hear the techs baby-talking my cat while I’m sitting in the check out part of the waiting area. It’s cool to know that’s how they treat your pet even when you’re not in the room. And it shows the staff really enjoys what they do. They’ve always showed up for us and I’m grateful. Thank you!

We started rescuing special needs and senior cats this year. Our old vet clinic we went to never helped us, our two oldest cats were always sick and never getting better. They never ran tests or gave medicine unless I literally outright demanded it. Our oldest senior boy got a horrific eye infection, and I found out the previous clinic gave him eye gel that was actually dangerous for the condition that he had and could have blinded him. I stopped use right away and pulled him from the old vet clinic. I had had enough. Thanks to my mom, I made an appointment with Sylvan instead. It was my first time here, but we switched all of our animals over to Sylvan completely afterward. I’ve been bringing my dog here since the Logan Boulevard location, but I am now in the process of finding a new vet. Our veterinarian Andy was always excellent. He was thorough, courteous, and genuinely caring with my dog. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the tech appointments. The visits we had with the techs were for emergencies with diarrhea and vomiting, and they felt rushed with little to no communication. I always felt that more could have been done in those situations. The entire reason for this one-star review, and for finding a new vet, is due to the red-headed lady at checkout. In my experience, she consistently comes across as rude and dismissive, with an attitude that makes it seem as though she is above her job. She gives off a clear sense of disdain toward me as a
