Very caring and compassionate team. Dr. K has been so sweet and kind towards my pets. She is thorough, communicates well, and has handled our pet’s situation with the utmost respect and professionalism. Although my pets can sometimes be skiddish at vet clinics, at Southwood they are comfortable and happy. I also appreciate their after hours emergency care for patients. When I had a question/ concern over the weekend, I was able to get a call back from the vet on call, which happened to be Dr. Penn that day. He talked me through the situation, allowed me to send in pictures by text, and then advised me on what I was seeing and what to do. This is a priceless service for pet care and peace of mind. I live in Nac but will continue traveling to Lufkin for vet care bc the service here is so won

We are regulars here due to managing an autoimmune condition and we regularly see Dr. Blunt and have also been seen by Dr. Penn & Dr. Brink in emergencies and they are all very good. The front desk staff that the clinic has now is phenomenal. This clinic is high volume and they do get busy but once established I’ve always been able to get worked in for emergency situations. I also appreciate that they take emergency calls for patients since we don’t have a local ER. I am so glad we have this option locally versus having to drive hours to a specialist. Their pricing is also reasonable and competitive with other local clinics.

They are very affordable and absolutely love your pets. Before them i had tried different vets and always left confused and broke. They explain everything to you and the prices are unbelievable in a good way!!

It was my first time to bring my dog here, they seem to have spaced out their dog appointments because they had time to see us/ gave my dog full attention and we did not have to wait too long. The vet was super nice and they were able to trim my dog's 💅 nails and do blood work within minutes. They even asked, if my dog needed her glands Checked out. This is an unpleasant job and usually vet techs do not ASK to do it. 😮 I was impressed.
