South Davis Community Hospital (SDCH)

This place is a death trap. My family member almost died here. Thank God we found out in time to transfer them somewhere else. A blatantly obvious missed infection, which I was able to diagnose and I don't have any medical knowledge. At my request was sent to the ER and they tried to argue with me about it. The hospital said had they taken another day to come in they would not have made it. Now they have fully recovered and are back home and happy. All because we choose to go somewhere else after that happened. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy!!

My sister has been at South Davis Community Hospital for a long while now. They are great to address any concerns we have and take care of any problems that arise quickly. My sister enjoys the many activities that the recreation therapists plan ( They are the best). She enjoys being with the other residences and staff. Many members of the staff have become like family to my sister and my family. Many of the nurses and aids make time to talk with her and not just rush through their tasks. They really care to spend a little more time with her. We are so thankful for the staff and SDCH and all they care and help they give to my sister.

Would not give any stars for them! They stopped treatment on my Dad because my dad's insurance stopped and it put him in the hospital he definitely was not ready to leave and it was on Fathers day they did NOT call me to let me know he went to the hospital when I'm the only one on the call list! He didn't make it! A couple of nurses there were terrible they were just going to put a lidocaine patch on a part of his back that they can see and not put it where it my dad hurting! The Facility smelled terrible and it didn't feel clean! South Davis was terrible I wish I had never had him go here communication was bad, they lied, nursing him back to health which they never did was bad I'm disappointed in this place cause it's not about the patients it's about money! They say they have good review

I am so grateful for SDCH . My son has been a long term resident for almost 29 years. Over the years he has had numerous people take care of him. All have been very caring and sensitive to his specific needs. Through out the years my son and I have developed some special relationships with the in house school teachers he had, nurses, CNAs, respiratory therapists, social workers and especially recreation therapists. Every one at SDCH plays a role in the care and well being of my son and every patient. From the nursing staff , recreation therapy, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, (the kind maintenance workers who find time to hang up a new tv), the house keepers who keep everything clean and spotless, and the laundry department for washing their clothes. My nephew passed away last week after a 7 year battle with cancer and the effects of the treatments. He was at South Davis for much of that time and the care that the nurses took with him was incredible. They all loved Cullen and became great friends to him and his family. While his passing has been so difficult for us, I know it's also been extremely difficult for the South Davis staff who cared for him day in and day out and held a special place in their hearts for him. From his aunts, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being so amazing to our sweet angel and know that you made a huge impact in his much too short life!
