Select Specialty Hospital - The Villages

As mom is being discharged from Select Specialty Hospital in Oxford, FL , we wanted to share our deep appreciation and gratitude to a couple of outstanding caregivers she had during her stay here. We have been so touched by the exceptional care provided to her by her nurse practitioner, Greg Simmons and her CNA Mariano. They both took such loving care of mom which gave peace of mind and the confidence that they had her very best interests at heart in every action and decision. I also want to mention, Paula Coffman the case manager. Paula made sure we had all the information we needed to make the decision on the next options to complete her rehabilitation.

When my dad arrived here after his hospital stay where the drs he would likely never come off the ventilator. We were preparing ourselves for a future defined by limitations, fear, and heartbreak. This facility saw something different. They saw possibility. Through extraordinary medical skill, persistence, and unwavering belief in my father’s ability to recover, the team here helped him do what we were told was impossible. He came off the ventilator. What makes this place truly exceptional is not just the advanced care, but the people. Every doctor, nurse, therapist, and caregiver treated my dad with dignity and respect, never giving up on him even when the odds were stacked against him. They took the time to explain each step, answered our questions with patience, and supported our family

The nurses and caregivers deserve special recognition. Their attentiveness, warmth, and quiet acts of compassion did not go unnoticed whether it was a reassuring word, a gentle touch, or simply treating my grandmother with the respect she has earned over a lifetime. In what could have been the darkest days for our family, they brought light. Because of this facility and the people who work here, my grandmother is alive today. That is not something we will ever take lightly. You didn’t just save a life you preserved memories, laughter, conversations, and time that we thought we might lose. Our gratitude runs deeper than a star rating can capture. Thank you for your skill, your care, and your hearts. We will never forget what you did for our family.

My dad was here for a little over 3 weeks. Amazing staff! My dad loved the food. Clean and everyone was very positive from the case workers to all the nurses and PT staff! My dad would not be moving to the next rehab if not for their efforts. We appreciate this facility so much!

My mother, Linda Dellinger, had a quintuple heart bypass surgery at HCA Ocala and due to complications she was in the CardioVascular ICU for a month. We had choices for long term care and after visiting several facilities we chose Select Specialty in Oxford, Florida even though it was further from our house than some of the other options. HCA hospital was going to have her moved to Kindred in Ocala but everyone we talked to that knew how involved and how much we loved our mother told us not to let her go there.
