Putnam Hospital, part of Nuvance Health

I recently spent five nights at Putnam Hospital after having visited the ER for a gastric issue. I know that many patients and their families find hospitals in general to be frightening places, and are often frustrated because they don't feel the professionals who work there are showing adequate urgency when it comes to providing answers and help. While I was certainly in a considerable amount of pain, every single staff member I encountered during my stay was at a minimum efficient, and more often, truly pleasant and caring. The hospital itself is clean and quiet. I'm not sure it's possible to say I truly enjoyed my time being ill, but none of the staff at Putnam are to blame for that!

I wish I could rate this hospital 0 stars that’s what it’s deserving of. My father was a patient here two weeks ago- he’s a diabetic and was having red flag symptoms of a severe vascular issue with his legs. He also had a wound on his foot that was not healing and was in excruciating pain. This sad excuse for a hospital did a Doppler on his legs and saw severe blockages in his arteries in both legs. They first said he needed to see a vascular surgeon immediately and then flipped the script and said he was being discharged and he on his own needed to follow up with vascular and a wound care doctor for his foot. Two days later we were able to get him in with a vascular surgeon at White Plains Hospital his foot at this point had developed gangrene and he was in unbearable pain and could barel

Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Last week, i took My father in because he was saying he had a stroke (not the first time he’s had one so he knew what was going on). I rush him the ER, walked him in there on my shoulder and sit him in a chair. I then walk up to the counter where the lady behind there was distracted on her phone and didn’t even know I was standing there. I said hello and she immediately turned around and i told Her that my father is either having a stroke or a heart attack. To make the long story short, we get a wrist band around his wrist and she tells me to hang tight. Not knowing much about how stroke issues work, my mother arrives 10 minutes later and asked me why we were still in the waiting room. I felt I had to write this review because the negative ones don’t reflect the truth of my experience. From the moment I arrived, every single person—from security and the front desk staff to the nurses and doctors—was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. The hospital itself was spotless, and I never once felt like “just another patient.” Instead, I was cared for as if I were a family member. My surgery went smoothly, and I was supported every step of the way. I am overjoyed with the level of care I received and would highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need.

Doctors and nurses are way too comfortable wasting other peoples time. Appointment for 9 am not seen until after 10. They know they have elderly patients that cant just cancel so they treat them as hostages. This hospital is a farce.
