Putnam Hospital Center

I needed thyroid surgery and my doctor preferred Putnam. I was like, Putnam has a hospital?!?! Read the reviews and trusted my doctors choice; and that was the right decision. We arrived @ 5:35AM. Parking was a cinch (literally park at the exit for ambulatory surgery). Upon entering the lobby, the one security guard was warm & pleasant and told us what we needed to do. We found our way in no time, went through a speedy check-in and moved to the waiting room. We were *very* early so the 20 minute wait was not unexpected. Once called it it was like concierge service. My nurse was awesome, friendly, and even though there were a couple technical issue with the scanner (remedied in under three minutes), checkin was smooth and easy. I was rushed to the emergency room after experiencing anaphylactic shock. They took me in immediately and it was all hands on deck to help me get through this rough time. That day I experienced a great team that worked together to fix a problem. 🙏🏽

I am extremely disappointed with the deteriorating quality of care at this hospital over the past few years. During my visit to the ER following a car accident, I was dismayed that I was not examined thoroughly. The doctor questioned me in a public hallway in front of other patients, rather than in a private room. This lack of privacy and proper examination was unsettling. More recently, when my wife sought help for severe stomach pain and other intestinal issues, we encountered further problems. After a long wait, she was placed in a room with dirty sheets that were clearly not cleaned after the previous use. It was only after I pointed this out that the staff apologized and took corrective action. Regrettably, I fear that the standard of care will continue to decline. If possible, I s

Absolutely a disgrace My father was there on Saturday 10/21/23 in excruciating pain,after back surgery a week ago.The desk girl who was a Latino person..took a Latino patient who came in after my father 1 hr +. In front of my father.Let my father for hrs without assistance .Then send him home.We intend to put a stop to he's insurance to pay.,.Health care in U SA is denied to American citizens..I intend to file an huge complaint with New York state.This is what I call abuse , neglect, negligence. Worst experience ever came to the emergency room; asthma client with a fever and back pain. I'm throwing up flem, and people come in out before me 2 hours after triage, and they still have not been seen.
