Primary Care Clinic of Hawai’i- Hilo

My grandfather is in his 80’s and HARD of HEARING. He went to his follow up after being in the hospital for almost a week. He checked in the front desk and “waiting room” is outside. The front desk receptionist YELLED at my grandfather to get outside. Mind you again he is hard of hearing. He told her to cut her attitude and she goes “that’s how I talk”. No I don’t think that’s how you talk to your patients. That’s not right at all. I could’ve called and yelled and give her a piece of my mind but I have class and doing a review should be fine. NOW they have to find new doctors because I won’t allow this to happen again.

Never before have I had controlled Type 2 as I have since becoming one of there 1st patients. The care I receive is unmatched since Dr Charles Linden was my PCP before he passed away. Thank you Dr. Sonido for coming to Hilo! Dr. Ana Lo, Endocrinologist, James, Joy Bonnie and staff. Thank you for your care and aloha., for both my husband and myself.. God bless your labors of love for our community.

They do not answer the phone, and they don't have an option to leave a voicemail. When I have gotten ahold of them (after having to repeatedly call for two days) the woman said she'd call me back same day and never did. My last visit, the nurse was very impatient and rude with me. The doctor also misdiagnosed me without looking closely at the issue. Definitely don't go here if you want quality health care.

Very nice experience. The staff and doctors I had delt with were very helpful , nice,and professional yet friendly to me. Although I do wish they had longer opening hours because right now is 8am to 4:30pm. Wish they would stay open til at least 5pm or max 5:30pm. But overall that they are really nice and good to work with and always helping me with ever I need help with my health.

Dr. Sonido, James and all truly care about their patients. Oftentimes, those of a lower socioeconomic stature are treated poorly by the medical profession. Dr. Sonido has shown genuine care, nor do I get the bum's rush out the door. My medical issues are seriously and thoroughly addressed. He truly honors the Hippocratic Oath.
