I scheduled a virtual dermatology appointment that I feel went well overall. The visit was brief (about 5–10 minutes), and the dermatologist was kind and agreed to prescribe a medication that we discussed during the appointment. The issue was after the visit. The dermatologist contacted me to say the prescription would be sent to my pharmacy and then followed up to inform me that my insurance did not cover the medication. I immediately responded that I was completely fine paying out of pocket and confirmed the pharmacy where it should be sent. After waiting a few days, I followed up and was again told by the dermatologist that the medication was not covered by my insurance and that I would need to pay out of pocket and I could get a GoodRX coupon .
