Preferred Care at Absecon

Day 1 very accommodating and kind. My mother was pleased with the location and her room. She also arrived at dinner time and thought it was great to get a hotdog, baked beans and coleslaw for dinner. After being in the hospital it was a nice surprise. Room was clean and she has furniture to hold her belongings. I hope I get a survey on Day 14 and can say more great things! Day 2 Mom was thoroughly cleaned and changed into new clothes. Everyone was attentive. Paris was wonderful and so was Jennifer the PT. Mom’s room was changed, due to safety of the patients. I appreciate that:..(to be clear my Mom is fighting an infection and her roommate could not be around that) Additionally, I happened to look out of the window and realized a man had fallen out of his wheel chair in the courtyard. If you are looking for a good place to go for rehabilitation, this is the place. Both the Physical and Occupational Therapists know their stuff, they will get you moving and on the road to recovery without you realizing how much you are achieving.. In occupational therapy they have a lot of games to play, so you don't even realize that you are working on your skills that you need to go home. Everyone knows that Physical therapy is hard. But between the fellow patients and the therapists cheering you on, you feel a sense of accomplishment when you do complete a hard task. The nursing staff and their aids are awesome. You deal with them every day, they care about you and it shows. The aids try to make your life and stay here at Preferred Care as easy as possible when all you want is to be at

My rehabilitation is really great! From someone who was using the bedpan, I was able to to ambulate to the bathroom with the help of the PT, Jennifer. Daily, I gradually was able to use the hemi walker with the help of Kim. The daily PT/OT group sessions were helpful though I prefer I 1:1 sessions. Pat made sure I can pursue my independence. She gave me pointers for me to strengthen my muscles. God, Cameryn, Kristine, Vidya, Deanna and Valerie to name those who also are instrumental in my recovery .Forgive me if I missed your name, my memory goes down as my age goes up!!! I can’t thank you enough for all you have done for me!!

I had just recently stayed here from October to December 2025 for rehabilitation after having stayed at Excel care in egg harbor township which had been a traumatizing experience with neglect and lack of basic care. I was skeptical about coming here after the disappointment of Excel care but this place restored my faith in humanity. Staff was very attentive. Answered the lights very quickly and the nurses did more then just pass out drugs all day. The nurses and aids showed true care and compassion. Physical therapy did very well accommodating me with all the medical equipment and proper therapy to get me strong and prepared to return home. Denise from woundcare absolutely lovely and was a pleasure to meet as well. So yes Thank you all for taking very good care of me for my stay there.

Incredibly caring staff, made my recovery through a difficult time as pleasant as could be! The nursing and therapy and aids all worked in cohesion to help me through a very trying time. Highly recommended!
